From October to December 2021, an in-situ long period fatigue test for full size steel cable used in The National Speed Skating Oval (Ice Ribbon) was carried out in the Test station for Mechanics and Structural Engineering of National Center for Materials Service Safety (NCMS). The test focused on the mechanical performance of steel cables under simulated extreme conditions, such as wind load and snow load. The results provided strong support to the construction of this important Olympic Venue.
